First, the regular papers and posters are limited to four manuscript pages and the invited papers are limited to eight manuscript pages. Your cooperation is appreciated.

By the Start of the Conference:

We request that all manuscripts be turned in prior to the start of the first session on Monday June 20th. This may be done by uploading your manuscript onto the conference website in the appropriate format. You may also turn in your electronic version at the conference registration site. It should be in an electronic form that may be corrected. We hope to have all the papers reviewed and corrected before the end of the conference on Thursday, that is, unless extensive corrections are necessary. We also request that you turn in three hard copies of your paper at the conference registration desk when you collect your registration materials. Then we can rapidly disseminate them to the referees for review.

From the IEEE Publishers:

Please follow the IEEE instructions and links/references below:

————————————–

1. The ICT’05 Proceedings will be published both in book format and on CD-ROM. The CD-ROM will be sent to you as part of the conference registration fee and the book will be available at extra cost to you as determined by the conference organizers. In order to do this without errors occurring during the editing and production process, we require both a file for your paper, and a check-print (as explained below), plus a signed copyright form.

2. The checkprint may be a paper copy or it may be a PDF that you have checked for correctness (especially symbols). We use this version to compare to the distilled version of your manuscript. We really prefer that you use an electronic submission in word format or submit an electronic version at the conference.

3. We prefer that you use the .doc template provided by ICT. The primary font should be Times New Roman (or Times Roman) as outlined in the Format Spec. Use other fonts only where necessary. The template and spec also guide you in title font/size, section headings, margins, and other formatting.

Format Spec: http://www.its.org/ict2005/ICT_Format_Spec.pdf

3. The computer file for your paper may be in one of these forms:

a. We prefer a MS Word/.doc file, if this is the word processor you used. We will prepare the proper PDF file, with embedded/subsetted fonts and the correct bit-density in the images.

b. If you use LaTeX, then please follow our formatting instructions. Distill the file to PDF if you have that ability. Follow the directions in the IEEE 2-page flyer, “Simplified Requirements for Creating PDF Files”:

Supplemental links:
Full IEEE PDF guidelines: http://www.its.org/ict2005/IEEE-PDF-Spec.pdf

c. Key points: for PDFs, fonts must be embedded and subsetted, and the PDF version should be 1.3 (for broadest compatibility). These are all options that may be configured through your Distiller’s “Job Options” screen. If you are using Adobe Acrobat, you may download the customized .joboptions files for Acrobat 4.0, 5.0, and 6.0, and directions on using them, at this link:

link: http://www.ieee.org/confpubcenter

(When filling out your request to download these files, list the conference as “ICT’05” and your position as “Author”.)

4. Name your files such that the name assists us in determining which paper you are submitting. We suggest using author last name, plus session designation. Example: desilva-B7.pdf or huber-A7.doc.

5. Send files to the Proceedings production team at: ICT@cpmt.org

This mailbox can receive files up to 25 MB in size. You will receive an auto-response confirming receipt. Items you may send to this mailbox:

— your word processor file (Word, WordPerfect, etc)
— a PDF checkprint of your paper
— requests for clarification and assistance

6. You may also place your paper’s files on a CD-R or ZIP-100 disk and send it by mail:

Paul Wesling
12250 Saraglen Dr
Saratoga, CA 95070 USA
7. The check print of your paper may also be FAXed:

FAX: +1-408-904-6997

8. Please print the ICT’s IEEE copyright release form and mail or FAX it.
