Transverse Effects in Thermoelectric Systems – an International Workshop in Bonn, Germany

October 13 @ 5:00 pm October 16 @ 1:00 pm

Announcing an upcoming WE-Heraeus-Seminar for the Thermoelectrics community (free)

Dear Thermoelectricians,

The Wilhelm and Else Heraeus Foundation is sponsoring a timely workshop titled “Transverse Effects in Thermoelectrics Systems” to celebrate and foster developments in this area of research. The workshop will take place Oct 13-16, 2024 at the Foundation’s headquarters in Bonn, Germany.

The WE-Heraeus Seminars, similar to the Gordon Conferences, aim to stimulate discussions and create partnerships among experts from academia and industry in an emerging field of Physics. Our workshop will begin on Sunday evening with a special plenary talk, include approximately 20 oral presentations (invited and contributed) and a poster competition, and end on Wednesday after lunch. The WE-Heraeus Foundation will provide all-inclusive accommodations for the attendees (room and meals).

We invite you to participate in this TE-centric international event, open to all members of the community, from academia, national labs and industry, senior researchers, early-career researchers and students. Interested parties should submit an application through the workshop website. Application deadline is 27 August 2024. Attendees are encouraged to present a poster, in the areas of theory, materials development and characterization, physics, device integration, and applications of transverse thermoelectric phenomena. Outstanding submissions will be promoted to contributed talks. Students and postdocs entries will also be considered for up to 3 cash prizes. Please note that the total number of participants is limited to 80 people.

We thank the Wilhelm and Else Heraeus Foundation for funding the workshop and the poster competition prizes.

Warmest regards,

The Organizing Committee
